Brian J. Katz, M.D., is a Board Certified Dermatologist practicing in Miami Beach and in Plantation, Florida. His interests include all facets of General Dermatology for both adult and pediatric patients and he performs a wide variety of cosmetic/aesthetic services. Dr. Katz’s expertise includes the early diagnosis of skin cancers especially “atypical” moles and melanoma utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques including dermoscopy, mole monitoring, and full body digital photography.
Dr. Katz completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan earning a Bachelor of Science Degree with High Distinction. Additionally, he earned class honors, made the Deans List, and received the James B. Angell Scholar Award. Subsequently, he went on to attend Tel Aviv University, Sackler School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. He then completed his Residency in Dermatology in New Jersey at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he was selected to be Chief Resident.
Dr. Katz has co-authored numerous academic papers and has contributed to several academic textbooks and publications. He has also lectured to professional state and national organizations on the early diagnosis of melanoma and other cancers of the skin. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a board member of the International Society of Dermoscopy and his biography appears in Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
Dr. Katz offers his patients specially formulated skin care products for use as part of a physician supervised skin care regimen.
